In the spring of 2005 a group of companies «RUYAN» were reorganized into two independent companies – RUYAN and UPECO.
RUYAN was founded in 1995 and first specialized on selling shoe cosmetics.
In 1997 the focus activity of the group of companies concentrated on creating and developing the brands in a couple of market categories.
Raptor became the leader in the insecticides and repellents market. Gardex market share has been constantly growing since 2002.
In the shoe cosmetics market we have 2 brands, Salton and Patisson which we have been developing since 2000. In 2002 we got the exclusive rights to distribute Salamander shoe cosmetics in Russia and Ukraine.
In 2001 a new direction was opened representing the goods for sports and tourism that were assembled under two umbrella brands: «Expeditsia» [«Expedition»] and the brand of the equipment for picnics «Forester».
By the beginning of 2005 the brand portfolio of the group of companies included brands dealing either with household chemical goods or with the goods for active leisure and tourism. These two business directions differed in terms of developing the product lines, promoting the brands and the types of distribution. In order to save the leadership in both directions, the proprietors made a collective decision about splitting the responsibility and reorganizing the brand portfolio of RUYAN.
As a result UPECO got:
Brand of picnic equipment Forester was left in the joint possession of UPECO and RUYAN companies. UPECO got the status of official distributor of the brand in Russia and the CIS countries.
Today UPECO is aiming to concentrate its energy in creating and developing the brands of consumer goods having a mission to make people’s everyday lives more comfortable and convenient.
